"We went to FFUN, CalTire and SHEILD and checked out the job sites that Sierra is working on. The poured concrete last night at FFUN so it was cool to see how fast the concrete dried," said Annika who joined classmate Demi at Sierra Construction.

Many students took part in a variety of work places from Treaty Three Police, to Lake do the Woods District Stewardship Association, the Kenora Medical Associates, CarStar Kenora, the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Saakaate House and more.

Chelsea Blackwell went to work at Kenora Bed n Bale and said it was a perfect preview of what she hopes to do in the future.

"I like it! I want to own a ranch when I grow up so having this experience and learning early on is great," she said.

While not everyone went into a workforce they're interested in, many students agreed it was still great to see what the job entails.

"I always thought of social worker as kind of a back up options," said Ayla. "So it's been good following my mom around. I've had a tour of Saakaate and I didn’t know she managed the day to day and how it works so it's been really interesting."
