The LEAF program offers an unparalleled opportunity for students to learn outside the traditional classroom setting. With small group sizes, students receive personalized attention and access to high-quality equipment and expertise from professional researchers. This hands-on experience not only enhances their learning but also provides a clear path to careers in freshwater science and environmental sciences.

Parents report that their children return from each LEAF day full of stories, details, and new knowledge, often becoming experts in their own right. The program opens up new career options for students by providing clear examples and paths to professions in science.
