On February 22, 2025, the Symphonic Winds and Percussion from St. Thomas Aquinas took the stage at the Manitoba Concert Band Festival, delivering a performance filled with technical precision and musical expression.

Last night at the Moncrief Construction Center, friends, families, and fans came together to honour our Senior Saints hockey players in a heartfelt pre-game ceremony. 🏒✨ Both our girls' and boys' senior players were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and the impact they've made on and off the ice during their time with the Saints hockey program.

This month, the foyer at St. Thomas Aquinas High School is transformed into a space of learning, appreciation, and cultural connection with the installation of the Miijim: Traditional Foods of the Lake of the Woods Anishinaabeg exhibit.

STAHS students had an incredible opportunity to broaden their horizons and explore potential career paths during the school’s annual Career Explore event.

Today, we proudly celebrated Seniors Day, honoring our senior athletes in Curling, Boys Basketball, and Girls Volleyball.

The Saints curling team is making waves this season, not just for their skill on the ice, but also for their fresh new apparel. The logo on their hoodies was created by Grade 12 student and dedicated team member, Sarah Biehn, whose creativity and hard work have made a big impact on her team and school.

Grade 7 French Immersion students in Mr. Sachowski’s class recently took learning to new heights with their exciting Structures: Form and Function unit.

Grade 11 students from St. Thomas Aquinas High School’s Parenting/Raising Healthy Children class had a memorable visit to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH) Maternity Unit on December 18th.

Mrs. Richards’ Raising Healthy Children class has taken a hands-on approach to understanding parenthood with the help of infant simulators, giving students a crash course in the challenges of caring for a baby.

The Leadership & Peer Support Class collaborated with the Grade 6 students at SJPII for a a creative and hands-on project to mark National Skilled Trades and Technology Week!

Grade 9 students from St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STAHS) joined the nationwide Take Our Kids to Work Day, an annual event that encourages young people to experience a day in the working world.

Our Grade 10-12 FNMI students embarked on an inspiring journey from Kenora to Thunder Bay, where they had the unique opportunity to explore post-secondary options at Confederation College and Lakehead University.

Today, St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STAHS) proudly hosted the 2024 Academic Awards Ceremony, recognizing the outstanding achievements of our students in grades 9 to 11 from the previous school year (2023-2024).

As part of our Seniors Day celebration, we proudly honour each of our Grade 12 athletes for their dedication and contributions to STAHS sports.

The Grade 10-12 students from our Outdoor Education class recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in an overnight camping trip filled with hands-on learning and unforgettable experiences.

The Mountain Bike Club closed out their season yesterday with an exhilarating race at BBSS.

On Wednesday, a group of our students had the exciting opportunity to attend the Women in Trades workshop hosted by Seven Generations Education Institute.

Students at STAHS have come together in an amazing way for the annual Terry Fox Run, raising over $3,500 for cancer research.

Today, St. Thomas Aquinas High School proudly hosted the 2024 Rock n’ Rook X Country and Mountain Bike Race, welcoming schools from across the region, including Fort Frances, Dryden, Ignace, Pelican Falls, and Red Lake.

St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STAHS) proudly launched its first-ever Outdoor Education Reach Ahead Course, a 12-day program that offered students the opportunity to earn three different types of certifications and receive a PAD10 or 20 credit upon successful completion.

Four students from STAHS were accepted into the IISD Experimental Lakes Area LEAF Program this past school year, embarking on a journey from August to April. They explored the ELA site monthly, delving into various aspects of environmental science. Their journey culminated in a research project presented at the Arts Museum in April.

Mosswood Adventures Owner Engages Students at STAHS Lunch & Learn

The Team at STAHS is gearing up for Saints Week. A week long event geared at celebrating our School Culture and welcoming our grade 6 students that are joining us in the Fall.

This past weekend, six STAHS students attended the Model United Nations Assembly in Winnipeg. The three day event hosted students from all over Canada and parts of the United States. 🗺️

Over the March break, the St. Thomas Aquinas High School Travel Club embarked on an adventure to Europe, engaging in history, culture, and art.

On April 26th Mr. Dubchak's grade 10 Green Industries class took part in a field trip to the Ministry of Natural Resources, where they got to learn all about careers in the field, day to day operations, drone demos and more.

On March 26th, students from STAHS embarked on an journey into the realms of augmented and virtual reality at the Next-Gen Reality Showcase hosted by Seven Generations Education Institute. The event not only showcased the cutting-edge tools available at the institute but also ignited a spark of curiosity and innovation among the young minds.

Painted by former student artist Kitana Blackhawk and her team during her senior year in 2022, the mural has finally found its place as a centerpiece of cultural representation in the school.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Cheerleading Team showcased their exceptional talent at the Manitoba Provincial Cheerleading Championships held in Winnipeg over the weekend of April 6th.

Over 30 local businesses visited TA to present and answer questions about various career paths.
