The St. Thomas Aquinas Cheerleading Team showcased their exceptional talent at the Manitoba Provincial Cheerleading Championships held in Winnipeg over the weekend of April 6. With their outstanding performance, the team secured not one but two remarkable victories, capping off their season.
With a strong display of skill and collaboration, the team secured 1st place in the Intermediate Division, however their success didn't stop there. The STAHS Cheerleading Team was also crowned as the Scholastic Grand Champions, an honour that distinguished them as the best among all Manitoba Scholastic teams, earning the highest score of the day.
Acknowledging the team's exceptional achievements, Manager and assistant coach Teresa Stevenson commended the leadership of head coach Amy Staerk, assistant coach Jamie Jones, and junior coach Leah Wykes. Their guidance and dedication were instrumental in steering the team to success, particularly noteworthy as this season marked a new chapter for the team at Provincials.

Prior to their performance in Winnipeg, the team embarked on a journey to Thunder Bay to participate in the OFSAA CHEERLEADING REGIONAL EVENT. Despite being the sole team representing grades 7-12, they rose to the occasion, securing an impressive 4th place finish. Their success is even more remarkable considering they competed against teams comprised solely of grades 9-12, showcasing their resilience and skill on the regional stage.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Cheerleading Team's triumphs emphasize their dedication, talent, and unwavering spirit.
Their achievements serve as a testament to their hard work and commitment throughout the season, inspiring both their peers and supporters alike.
