Information for Student-Athletes and Families Considering St. Thomas Aquinas High School

At St. Thomas Aquinas High School, student-athletes are supported in balancing academics and athletics. Through strong academic programming, personalized support, and a welcoming, faith-based school community, students from across the region are prepared for success in school and beyond.

Students at St. Thomas Aquinas High School benefit from a well-rounded education that supports academics, athletics, and the arts. Our regionally recognized music program offers both for-credit and extracurricular opportunities across a wide range of instruments. Flexible programming also helps student-athletes balance academic responsibilities while continuing to pursue hockey at a high level.

 

High Expectations

We maintain high expectations for academics, behaviour, and personal responsibility. Staff work closely with families, billets, and team contacts to support communication, student well-being, and academic success.



Guidance & Support

Our guidance team helps support a smooth transition into the school year and back home at the end of the season. Student-athletes receive personalized academic support while balancing the demands of hockey. In Grades 10–12, students can also access a specialized Physical Activity and Fitness (PAF) course with an on-ice hockey focus.


Skilled Trades & Technology

Students have access to hands-on learning opportunities through construction, welding, culinary arts, greenhouse studies, and advanced technology labs. Co-op placements and experiential learning opportunities help students explore career pathways and gain valuable real-world experience.

Pathways to the Future

St. Thomas Aquinas High School supports all post-secondary pathways, including university, college, apprenticeships, and the workforce. Staff work closely with students to help them plan for future goals and opportunities after graduation.

French Immersion

For students interested in continuing French Immersion, St. Thomas Aquinas High School offers a dual-track program leading to both a French Immersion certificate and high school diploma. Students also have the opportunity to earn internationally recognized DELF certification in Grades 11 and 12.
