On Wednesday, a group of our students had the exciting opportunity to attend the Women in Trades workshop hosted by Seven Generations Education Institute. This workshop offered a hands-on introduction to various skilled trades, empowering young women to explore career paths they may not have considered before.
Throughout the day, students engaged in a wide range of activities, learning about fields such as coding, electricity, hydraulics, power tools, esthetics, and driving skills. Each station gave them a taste of the skills needed for success in these important and growing industries. The event not only showcased the diversity of career options available in skilled trades but also encouraged students to think about their future in a new and exciting way.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Seven Generations for providing this incredible opportunity. Their dedication to creating pathways for students to explore skilled trades has opened doors for our young women to discover rewarding and dynamic career options.
At KCDSB, we believe in nurturing our students' potential by exposing them to a variety of career paths. This workshop was a fantastic way to do just that, and we are grateful for the continued support from our community partners.
