Students in Ms. Claire Sedesky’s Grade 9 Religion class had a meaningful learning opportunity today as they welcomed guest speakers Lisa and Janet from the Kenora Cat Shelter.
During their visit, Lisa and Janet shared insights about the shelter’s mission, the care they provide for animals in need, and the ways the community can support their efforts. The presentation helped students connect classroom learning with real-world acts of compassion and service.
Motivated by what they learned, the class is organizing a Sundae Fundraiser during Catholic Education Week. Proceeds will go toward supporting the Kenora Cat Shelter as well as A Dog’s Life, helping to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in the community.
This initiative reflects the students’ commitment to living out their faith through service, generosity, and care for others.
