A group of our Grades 10-12 First Nation, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) students embarked on an inspiring journey from Kenora to Thunder Bay, where they had the unique opportunity to explore post-secondary options at Confederation College and Lakehead University. This specialized trip provided a blend of interactive campus tours, hands-on workshops, and discussions focused on post-secondary pathways.

Confederation College and Lakehead University welcomed our students guiding them through various programs from applied sciences to the arts, health, and trades. The workshops were designed to immerse students in the practical side of these fields, giving them a tangible sense of what their future studies might look like.

We extend our gratitude to Confederation College, Lakehead University, and OYAP’s Indigenous Special Projects for their dedication to making this trip possible. Through their generosity and support, our students were able to access this eye-opening experience and gain insight into future pathways.
