Students at STAHS have come together in an amazing way for the annual Terry Fox Run, raising over $3,500 for cancer research. The challenge was simple: if the school raised $2,000, the top fundraiser would get to cut off 20 inches of Mrs. Kurtz's hair, which she is donating to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients.

Not only did they reach their goal, but they blew it out of the water! Leah Bissonnette led the fundraising efforts by collecting an impressive $1,491. In a fun ceremony in front of the whole school, Leah got to cut Mrs. Kurtz's hair, and the crowd cheered her on.

The day wrapped up with a school-wide walk in honor of Terry Fox, highlighting the importance of community and support. This year’s fundraising will help support important cancer research, keeping Terry’s message of hope alive.

The donation of Mrs. Kurtz's hair will also help those dealing with cancer, showing how even small actions can make a big difference. Check out our highlights video for a look at the hair-cutting ceremony and the walk. The STAHS community has once again shown how powerful teamwork and compassion can be!
