Hands-On Health Care: STAHS Students Explore Medical Careers at Lake of the Woods District Hospital
A group of enthusiastic STAHS students recently had the opportunity to step into the world of health care during an unforgettable visit to Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
As part of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program, students toured the hospital and engaged in a variety of hands-on activities that brought real-world medical practices to life. From making finger splints and performing CPR to assisting in a simulated delivery, caring for a newborn (using lifelike dolls), and examining lab specimens, the day was packed with interactive learning and eye-opening experiences.
This immersive field trip offered students a behind-the-scenes look at health care careers and allowed them to explore their interests in a supportive, engaging environment.
