Exploring the Trades: Female Students Dive into Autobody and Collision Repair at Carstar

A group of female STAHS students recently had an exciting and eye-opening field trip to Carstar, where they explored the world of Autobody Painting and Collision Repair—and got a firsthand look at what a future in the skilled trades could look like.

Sponsored by OYAP, the experience was designed to empower young women to consider careers in the trades, and Carstar provided the perfect setting—with strong female representation already thriving on their team.

Students toured the facility, asked questions, and even stepped inside the paint booth alongside one of Carstar’s talented female painters—and one of our very own STAHS Co-op students, Kianna!

This trip wasn’t just about observing—it was about imagining what’s possible. With opportunities like this, our students are gaining the confidence and insight to pursue hands-on, in-demand careers.
