Empowering Futures: Summer Student Hiring Fair

STAHS proudly hosted its Summer Student Hiring Fair, welcoming a variety of organizations offering exciting employment opportunities for students. Throughout the day, participants had the chance to explore job postings, submit resumes, and even take part in on-the-spot interviews.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all participating organizations for investing their time and energy into supporting our students, as well as to the students themselves for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and eagerness to engage.

A special highlight of the day was welcoming back one of our own graduates - this time as a recruiter with the City of Kenora. Avery’s return marked a true full-circle moment and stood as a powerful example of student success.

Celebrating Culture: Indigenous Day

The spirit of community continued as STAHS celebrated Indigenous Day. Students worked alongside educator Kathleen Holmstrom to prepare and share bannock with staff, fellow students, and visiting guests. This hands-on experience not only honored Indigenous culture and traditions but also brought people together in a meaningful and inclusive way.

Beyond the preparation and sharing of food, the day served as an opportunity for learning, reflection, and appreciation of Indigenous perspectives and traditions.

Graduate Spotlight: Avery’s Journey

Reflecting on her time at STAHS, Avery shared how her experiences helped shape her:

“My time at TA was super helpful for my growth - not only as a human being, but also in preparing me for post-secondary education. My Grade 12 English classes were more challenging than my first-year university courses, which really speaks to the level of education at STAHS.

I now work in Human Resources with the City of Kenora. The intersection of faith and education is incredibly important, and it’s something I’ve carried into adulthood. That foundation has shaped who I am and how I approach my working relationships. Through both sports and academics at STAHS, I developed strong communication skills - and that’s the biggest skill I use every day in my job.”

Led by educator Stephanie, senior Coding Club members guided younger students through interactive coding activities, helping them build skills while fostering connections and confidence.

The visit proved to be a truly enriching and memorable experience for all involved, showcasing the power of peer mentorship and the excitement of learning through technology.
