Curling

Avery
Senior Curler

"Avery’s first year of curling has been nothing short of remarkable. Her commitment to improving has been inspiring, and her willingness to learn has made her an essential part of this team. The difference in her play between the NorWOSSA qualifier and NorWOSSA itself was night and day—it was clear how much effort she put into growing as a player. Avery’s reliability and work ethic have made her a teammate everyone can count on, and I have no doubt she’ll bring that same determination to whatever she takes on next." ~ Coach Jon Ranger

Curling

Sarah
Senior Curler

"Sarah is the definition of resilience and heart. She gives her all to everything she does, and I’ve seen her face challenges, fail, and then rally back stronger than before. That ability—to push through setbacks and keep going—is a skill in life that not everyone has. Sarah, you are lucky to have it, and I know you will be successful in whatever path you choose after high school. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and determination have made a lasting impact on me, and I can't wait to see what you accomplish next." ~ Coach Jon Ranger

Basketball

Aiden
Senior Boys Basketball

"In Aiden’s first season of basketball, he has worked hard to prove himself. He has a tremendous amount of drive and passion that every coach loves to see in an athlete. Whether he’s on the court or the bench you can always hear Rosie cheering and communicating. Lifting his teammates up and helping them see the court in close games. Thank you, Aiden, for all that you have given to the team and for being a great athlete to coach. Best of luck in your seasons to come." ~ Coach Brooke Swoffer

Basketball

Theo
Senior Boys Basektball

"I have the honour of coaching Theo for three basketball seasons and every season he improves. He is a hard-working player that puts the time in off the court. It is very easy to see his love and passion for the sport as he makes every second count when he is out there. Theo is always pushing himself to get better, whether it’s in the gym working on his shot or coming to his coaches for guidance and advice on how to be a shut down defender. Thank you, Theo, for all that you have given to the team, and it really has been an honour to coach you. Best of luck in your seasons to come." ~ Coach Brooke Swoffer

Volleyball

Sophie Senior Girls Volleyball

"Sophie’s competitive edge makes her such an asset on the court. Her quick comebacks and wit off the court keeps the spirit of the team up and laughing. Sophie am happy that I  had the opportunity to coach you. Watching you develop over the last 6 years into who you are today is remarkable.  Thank you for always keeping me on my toes and challenging me." ~ Coach Megan Derouard
Curling

Michaela
Senior Curler

"Michaela stepped onto the ice for the first time this season, and her background in cheer helped her pick up the sport incredibly quickly. Her balance, agility, and enthusiasm for learning made her a natural fit for curling. What stood out most was her rapid improvement—between the NorWOSSA qualifier and NorWOSSA itself, it was like watching a completely different curler. Michaela’s dedication to getting better has been amazing to watch, and she has become a key part of this team in such a short time. Michaela, I hope you never lose that energy, excitement, and drive to push yourself." ~ Coach Jon Ranger

Curling

Alyssa
SR Curler

"Alyssa may be the quietest on the bus rides, but out on the ice, she’s one of the toughest competitors. She doesn’t say much, but she listens, learns, and applies everything she picks up, making her a steady and dependable presence in every game. Her natural ability and quiet confidence have been an asset to this team, and her strong, consistent play has not gone unnoticed. Alyssa, no matter where life takes you after high school, I hope you never lose that quiet strength and determination." ~ Coach Jon Ranger

Basketball

Veron
Senior Boys Basketball

"In the last three seasons of coaching Veron I have seen him grow to become a very talented and driven athlete. He rises above his hardships and works hard to improve in all aspects of the game and life. He puts his heart and passion into every minuet he spends on the court. He’s a very welcoming teammate and is always making sure that everyone is included and accepted. Veron, it has been an absolute pleasure to have been your coach and thank you for all that you have given to the team. Best of luck in your seasons to come." ~ Coach Brooke Swoffer

Basketball

Drew
Senior Boys Basketball

"In the three seasons that I have coached Drew, he has always been a dedicated and hard working athlete. He spends countless hours in the gym working on his shot, skills, anything he can to improve his game. We often need to kick him out of the gym after practice just so that we can go home! Every coach loves to see the type of player Drew is and we are very lucky to have him as a member of this team. Drew, it has been an absolute pleasure to coach you and thank you for all that you have given to the team. Best of luck in your seasons to come." ~ Coach Brooke Swoffer

"Alex is the energy of our team. She keeps our team laughing no matter what the situation.  Her positive attitude and humor help keep the team stay happy and fun on and off the court. It has been so much fun to coach you Alex and I wish you all the best in your future plans." ~ Coach Megan Derouard
Curling

Aiden
Senior Curler

"When I first started coaching Aiden in Grade 10, he had never stepped on the ice before. We used to count how many times he slipped during a game. Now, he’s one of the best sweepers out there, bringing unmatched passion and intensity to every shot. Aiden is involved in just about every sport possible, and one thing is clear—he gives his all in everything he does. I have no doubt that whatever he chooses to pursue, he’ll do it with the same drive and energy that has made him such a valuable part of this team." ~ Coach Jon Ranger

Basketball
Dom
Senior Boys Basketball

"This is Dom’s first year here at STAHS and it has been an absolute pleasure to be his coach. Dom is a team first guy, he is always uplifting the boys and cheering load. When he’s on the court he’s working hard on defence and always looking to make that extra pass on offence. Thank you, Dom for everything you have given to the team and for being a great athlete to coach. Best of luck in your seasons to come." ~ Coach Brooke Swoffer

Basketball

James
Senior Boys Basketball

"I have the honour of coaching Hilly for two basketball seasons and during this time I often joke with him that we would have to send him out on the court in a bubble. He is always bruised or bleeding but only because he is the toughest rebounder in the league and a force on defence. He is dedicated and hard working, an absolute pleasure to coach. Thank you Hilly for all that you have given to the team and best of luck in your seasons to come." ~ Coach Brooke Swoffer
