Building Bonds and Stools: STAHS Hosts Memorable Mother-Daughter Carpentry Workshop

It was an evening to remember at St. Thomas Aquinas High School as mothers and daughters came together for a hands-on experience at our OYAP-sponsored Mother-Daughter Carpentry Workshop.

Led by the skilled and enthusiastic Cory Hercun, participants spent the evening learning the fundamentals of carpentry while building their very own custom stool or side table. The workshop was filled with laughter, teamwork, and the rewarding sound of hammers hitting nails as families bonded through the process of creating something with their own hands.
From first-time builders to those with a bit of experience, everyone walked away with a sense of accomplishment and a unique piece they could be proud of.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Cory for his expert guidance and to all the participants who made the evening such a success. Events like these highlight the importance of experiential learning, and we’re proud to support opportunities that bring our school community together in meaningful and creative ways.
