Saints Curling Team Shines with New Logo Designed by Grade 12 Student Sarah Biehn

The Saints curling team is making waves this season, not just for their skill on the ice, but also for their fresh new apparel. The logo on their hoodies was created by Grade 12 student and dedicated team member, Sarah Biehn, whose creativity and hard work have made a big impact on her team and school.
Sarah’s curling journey started in Kenora, where she spent five years in the Little Rocks curling league and developed her skills with lessons from Andrea Ronnebeck during Grades 7 and 8. Since joining the Saints curling team two years ago, Sarah has become an important part of the team, starting as a second in her first year and taking on the role of skip this year.
Although Sarah hasn’t taken visual art courses at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, she’s been passionate about art since elementary school, taking classes and practicing consistently. This background helped her design a logo that represents both the team and the values of STAHS.
“For the concept of the logo, I wanted to make a design that included our original school logo, using red for school colours, and an angel’s wing to represent STAHS values,” Sarah explained. “I also thought it would be cool to add an abstract halo, with a curling rink wrapping around the 'S' and a rock sliding at the end.”
